Conditions of Boarding Animals – Gippsland Boutique Boarding Kennels

This agreement is in accordance with the requirements of the domestic Animals Act 2001 and the Code of Practice for the operation of Boarding Establishments 2006

1.  All pets are to be fully vaccinated. As per the Victorian Code 

all dogs that enter GBBK must have a current C5 vaccination 

This can be either the annual C5 vaccination or the combination vaccination of the 3-year C3 and annual C5 vaccination

*This must include Kennel Cough

A surcharge will apply if we are required to contact your vet for verification.

2.  Un-desexed dogs will be taken at the discretion of Gippsland Boutique Boarding Kennels (GBBK) and the owner must specify their dog in un-desexed upon booking. No un-desexed female dog/s will be boarded during peak periods.

3.  GBBC reserves the right to refuse entry of any animal.

4.  Boarding Rates are charged per calendar day. This includes the day of arrival, day of departure and all days in between no matter what time the dog arrives or departs. The owner agrees to pay the rate for boarding in effect on the date the animal is checked into GBBK. 

Arrivals & departures are during prescribed hours and only by appointment.

Any outstanding accounts will be paid by the owner prior to the dog/s leaving GBBK.

5.  The owner acknowledges that 24hrs notice (during office hours) is to be given if picking up their animal/s early 

6.  A non-refundable booking deposit is payable at the time of booking for each animal for Easter/Christmas/New year peak periods. Any refund that may be given is at the discretion of GBBK Management. Should a refund be given then a $50 administration fee will apply per booking. The full period booked will be charged during Easter, Christmas and New Year periods even if the animal is picked up early so, please choose dates carefully.

7.  Updates & Photos – a reasonable number of updates can be provided over the phones, SMS while your dog is in our care at no extra charge. Please be reasonable on requests. While GBBK will make all efforts to ensure the photos are quality standard, we are not professional photographers and photographing moving targets can be a challenge.

8.  GBBK has the right to post any photos & names of pets taken onto their social media or website.

9.  Under no circumstance will GBBK or any of the employees or agents be held responsible for any items lost, destroyed or left behind on these premises such as toys, bedding, collars, leads, coats, food, medication etc.

Victorian Legal Rights & Responsibilities

Domestic Animals Act 2001 – Section 64 (Part 5) – 64 thru to 68

1.  The owner specially represents that all he or she is the sole owner of the animal, free 7 clear of all liens and encumbrances.

2.  The owner agrees to pay all the costs and charges for the special services requested, any special treatment needed and any veterinary costs for the animal during the time the animal is in GBBK’s care. In the event of the animal’s illness and where the owner or their emergency contact cannot be readily contacted the veterinary surgeon’s decision in relation to treatment of the animal shall be final. Owner agrees to give permission to GBBK to allow personal information regarding the Owner and their animal to or received from a duly licenced Veterinarian.

3.  The owner agrees to be solely responsible for any and all acts of behaviour of the animal while it is in GBBK’s care and hereby indemnifies GBBK and shall 

4.  Under no circumstance will GBBK or its employees, be held responsible for Canine Cough/Influenza, Paralysis Tick, GDV (Bloat), injury, illness, death, loss or damage of any kind whatso ever that may occur to any animal while in the control of GBBK.

5.  By Boarding their animal and/or signing these conditions the owner acknowledges their acceptance of the conditions of Boarding Animals and certifies to the accuracy of all information given. The owner acknowledges that by boarding their animal and/or the signing of this contract shall create a lien over the animal in favour of GBBK which lien shall continue to exist whilst monies are owing to GBBK pursuant to this agreement.

6.  No dangerous or restricted breeds will be accepted by GBBK for the safety of other guests

Vaccination Requirements:

As per the Victorian Code all dogs that check in at Gippsland Boutique Boarding Kennels must have a current C5 Vaccination. This can be either the annual C5 Vaccination or the combination vaccination of the 3-year C3 and the annual C5 Vaccination.

Proof of this vaccination Must be shown upon Arrival.

Any obviously sick dogs will not be admitted – for the health & welfare of all our guests.

Veterinary Attention:

Should any of our guests need medical assistance while on their stay Gippsland Boutique Boarding Kennels has a vet on 24-hour call. The guest can be separate from our other guests in our isolated kennels until medical attention arrives. We are only a short drive to Gippsland veterinary Clinic emergency centre. We keep comprehensive records of our guests’ regular vet & their owners emergency contact details and we will endeavour to contact all parties should the need arise. You may also list another person as an emergency contact, such as a friend or relative if you think you will be out of contactor would rather have someone else make the decision for you. Please ensure you have discussed with this person wht your wishes are should they need to make a decision. Our philosophy regarding guests health is to treat them as if they were one of our beloved pets. You can also leave instructions for the level of Vet Care you wish for your animal. We are happy to discuss this is more detail should you have any concerns in this area of your animal’s care.

Boarding Reservations/ Requirements

All animals entering our boarding facility must be clearly identified & all special requirements requested by the owner or veterinarian made known & clear at the time of boarding 

(Such as medication, special diets, bathing, grooming etc)
